Novita has demonstrated a commitment to research for many years, as an essential part of providing quality services to people with disabilities. This commitment was strengthened in 2008 when the organisation formed the new Division of Research and Innovation, to build on existing research strengths and complement Novita’s provision of therapy, support and equipment solutions.

Novita’s history of research excellence includes:

  • clinical research (associated with conditions such as poliomyelitis, cerebral palsy, spina bifida, and muscular dystrophy, etc)
  • technical research and development (such as the access and wheelchair standards, product designs, and accessible telecommunications), and
  • the impact of disability and ageing (such as participation, the burden and impact of disability on families, and the economics of disability and assistive technologies).

Our work appears in national and international standards, publications, conference presentations and reports. We invite you to read more about the new Division of Research and Innovation.
