Novita's program:

  • provides quality care for teenagers aged 12 - 18 years living with a disability and their siblings outside of school hours, at Regency Park Centre

Eligibility for services

Young people aged 12-18 years living with disability and their siblings.

Services available

TeenZone participants take part in a variety of activities including cooking, painting, craft, swimming, viewing movies, games, fitness, picnics, photography, shopping, music and movement activities, relaxation, creating gifts for others, science experiments and excursions to the Zoo, Railway Museum, Aquatic Centre, Shopping Centres, Glenelg, SA Museums and much more.

TeenZone staff are very approachable, all being highly trained and skilled, with experience in a variety of areas to cater for each individuals' needs.

Special attention is given to meeting the individual health care needs of the teenagers to allow them the opportunity to join in a variety of activities that suit their interests and social and emotional needs. The program also encourages a sense of self, exposing teenagers to new experiences in a safe, caring and relaxing environment, while providing respite for their families.

The planned outcomes for the program are to:

  1. provide families and communities with access to flexible and appropriate outside school hours care, including vacation care, for children/teenagers with disability aged between 12 – 18 years of age
  2. provide stimulating and age-appropriate developmental, social and recreation activities for children/teenagers with disability
  3. ensure staff within the service are well supported and qualified to provide quality care to children/teenagers with disability, and
  4. ensure the ongoing viability of services through sound business practices and careful use of Government funding.

Location

TeenZone: Vacation Care and After School Care is based at Novita Children’s Services, Regency Park Centre, 171 Days Road, Regency Park, South Australia.

Families should contact the TeenZone Coordinator if they believe that transport difficulties will prevent their child taking part in the program. 

Schedule of fees

  • $34.70 per teen/sibling - full day
  • $17.35 per teen/sibling - up to 5 hours care
  • $10.41 per teen/sibling - after school care

Twelve places are available in each program and the Child Care Benefit (CCB) is obtainable from the Family Assistance Office.
