Community Group Pricing Changes | Novita

Community Group Pricing Changes

In 2020, the NDIS made some changes to their policy and pricing for group programs. At the time, these changes were not mandatory, and we chose not to implement the changes. We wanted to make sure that you would still be able to receive the support from us that you have come to know and trust.

From 1 January 2024, the new NDIS group pricing structure will be mandatory for all providers. We have tried to ensure that the changes that we make have as little impact on you as possible.

What is changing?

Starting on 1 January 2024, as a result of the changes made by the NDIS, we need to change the way we charge for group programs. As result, you will notice your invoice looks a little different. However, the services you receive will stay the same, and the total cost will remain very similar.

How it affects you?

The changes to your invoice will appear automatically and you do not need to do anything. You will still be able to choose to attend the same programs, at the same locations, with familiar faces and the trusted support you’ve come to expect.

Changes to your invoice

We will now be offering 3 levels of support in your group programs. These are the levels that you will see on your invoice and are priced very close to the ratios of support you currently receive.

On your invoice you will also see items called “non-face-to-face time” and “capital centre cost.” These are not new charges, however, under the changes made by the NDIS, these now need to be listed on your invoice separately.

Levels of support

We will have three levels of hourly support that match your needs.

  • Level 1: for people who mainly need one-to-one support.
  • Level 2: for people who mainly have shared support with one other person.
  • Level 3: for people who mainly have a mixture of shared support with one or two other people.

These hourly support levels reflect the changes that happen in a group. We will always provide a higher level of support when required and there are times when your ratio of support is less, but your level of support will stay the same as you currently receive. The number of Novita support workers who are part of your program will not be changing.

More About the Levels of Support

The 3 new levels of support are very similar to the current ratios of support that you receive and would be used to.

The information below compares the current price of the ratio of support with the price for the new level of support.

Current Ratios of Support  New Levels of Support
Ratios  Price  Level  Price
1:1   $68.89  Level 1  $69.00
1:2  $39.65  Level 2  $40.10
1:3  $29.91  Level 3  $30.68

Please note: This example is based on Novita’s standard weekday rates only

Capital Centre Costs

You may also notice something that is called “centre capital cost” on the invoices that you receive from us.

The NDIS define this as the cost of making a centre available and suitable for use by individuals in the program. program across the day.

This is not a new charge. Previously this cost was included in your hourly rate, however, the changes implemented by the NDIS mean that we now must show this as a separate cost on your invoice.

Non-Face-to-Face Time

Some of the support that we provide to our clients includes activities that don’t happen face-to-face. This can include planning and preparing activities, discussions with family members and other important people in your life, updating important documents and assessments.

Each of the three price levels of support includes a component of non-face-to-face time that is essential for safe, quality services for all our clients.

This is not a new charge and was previously included in your hourly rate, however, the changes implemented by the NDIS mean that we now must show this as a separate cost on your invoice.

If additional non-face-to-face time is required, we will discuss this with you in advance.

Costs that will appear on your invoice

The prices for the new levels of support listed in the table above include your support rate, capital centre costs and standard non-face-to-face time.

Novita will continue to send your invoice to the same person, plan manager or representative as before.

Under the changes made by the NDIS, these costs are required to be listed separately on your invoice. On your invoice that you will receive form 1 January 2024, you will now see the total costs split up and listed as follows:
