Home Interaction Program for Parents and Youngsters (HIPPY)

HIPPY is a home-based parenting and early childhood enrichment program targeting families with young children.
Over two years (in the years before and after starting school), HIPPY children work through weekly or fortnightly packs of play-based, educational activities with their parents and family. They are encouraged to ask questions and try new things, developing their confidence and passion for learning, which enables school-readiness.

HIPPY provides your child with a structured, education-focused program that lays the foundations for success at school. With the support of a tutor you teach your child literacy, numeracy and language skills as well as physical skills so they are school-ready and develop a love of learning that lasts throughout their lives.

The HIPPY approach develops the foundations for learning in the home during children’s crucial early years. HIPPY fosters social inclusion, contributes to successful school participation and offers parents a supported pathway to employment and local level community leadership.
HIPPY is designed to be fun and enjoyable for both the parents and children involved in the program.

Novita provides three HIPPY programs to families living in Mansfield Park, Davoren Park and Salisbury North.

The Home Interaction Program for Parents and Youngsters (HIPPY) is funded by the Australian Government through the Department of Social Services.
