Program Summary

Reframing Behaviour provides early childhood educators with practical strategies and tools to support positive engagement, participation and inclusion for all children.

Run by a Novita allied health professional, the program helps educators understand behaviour from a regulation, communication and environmental perspective, and supports them to embed strategies within everyday preschool routines and activities.

The program can be delivered face-to-face, online (telehealth) or hybrid (combined approach).

Program Breakdown

  1. Observation (2 hours) 
    In-person or virtual visit to the preschool site, to observe current routines and activities and regulation needs of the centre. 

     

  2. Regulation and Sensory Processing Training (90 minutes)
    Understand regulation and sensory processing and practice sensory-based strategies to support regulation. 

     

  3. Follow Up Coaching (90 minutes)
    In person or virtual ‘on the floor’ support to implement co-regulation and environmental supports.

     

  4. Environmental and transactional supports to aid regulation
    training (90 minutes)
    Learn about using routines to assist regulation and how to use energy levels as a reference point for regulation.

     

  5. Follow Up Coaching (90 minutes)
    In person or virtual ‘on the floor’ support to implement sensory, play-based regulation and energy-metre visuals and supports.

     

  6. Final Review and Next Steps (90 minutes)
    Final in-person or virtual visit to review progress and develop a plan to maintain and grow regulation supports at preschool.
