“The thing that I love most about my role is being able to support my clients to regain independence,  or participate in activities that they previously were able to do or they previously haven't been able to do as a result of their disability. 

Novita is such a large organisation. We have so many different areas of practice that you can go into and for me it was starting in the ongoing therapy space and then being supported and encouraged to follow my passion of going into the assistive technology.

“An OT's role at Novita is really diverse, your case load can be as varied, or as specific as you would like. Working within a multi-disciplinary team, an inter-disciplinary team, I've gained skills that I wouldn't have been able to do at any other organisation that didn't have that really clear support.”

“There's such a huge need for OTS in Regional areas, there are people living with isabilities everywhere and I think it's important for those people to be able to remain in their homes or remain in their towns that they've grown up in and still be able to access occupational therapy.

“People are accessible and people will make themselves accessible to support your learning especially in those foundation years as a new graduate so you have the opportunity to try different areas of practice and you are encouraged to follow your passions and what is of interest and meaning to you as well.”
