Spoken by Physiotherapist, Jess:
“I think the most rewarding thing, about being a physio, is seeing the clients and seeing how they're reaching their goals. Sometimes it's very small goals or it might be that it takes a really long time. That constant practice, that repetition, finally they reach that goal and I think that's the best part. The joy on their face and their family members face when they reach their goal.”
Spoken by Physiotherapist, Joseph:
“There is no success without a first try. You do have to actually make the leap. And I wish that there was some kind of secret that I could give you to overcome that initially but it is a bit of a jump. Is the truth. When you're first you reaching out for services or even just reaching out for help in general, there is a bit of a first jump and that can be scary. But, I can't encourage it enough.
We see so many people already, but I know that there are that many and more that don't get appropriate services or don't get the tools that they need and I think that's such a terrible shame.”
Spoken by Physiotherapist, Kayla:
“We can provide a really lovely holistic care for our clients. So we're not only working on their body structures, but we're also working with the families. I love watching uh these clients improve every session. And watching them grow and work towards different goals. And it's really fulfilling knowing that you were part of that journey.”
Spoken by Physiotherapist, Dani:
“Physiotherapy is very broad. But at Novita we are very much focused on improving an individual's physical abilities, such as the ability to stand, crawl, walk into some examples.”
Spoken by Physiotherapist, Jess:
“For our older clients it might be improving their independence. So their ability to get up from a chair and walk. Also improving their participation in an activity.”
Spoken by Physiotherapist, Kayla:
“We work across different locations some of these locations include the clinic visit. We've got different pieces of equipment like the parallel bars. We've got different hoist and slings, treadmills, different pieces of gym equipment so that can be utilized, really positively with some of our clients.”
Spoken by Physiotherapist, Joseph:
“Sometimes you got to grab life by the horns a little bit and just kind of go for it.”
Spoken by Physiotherapist, Kayla:
“It never hurts to reach out to a physiotherapist and just book in an initial assessment. For some individuals there won't be any further follow-up but for others we might provide recommendations to come back for weekly sessions or even just check-in in the school holidays. That way you have peace of mind try not to worry about the when’s and how’s and if’s but just try and go for it as much as you can.”
