We’re here to help you understand what recent changes to the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) may mean for your supports, and what steps you can take if you have concerns about potential changes to your NDIS plan.
What is changing with NDIS funding?
From 1 October 2026, the Australian Government is introducing changes that will reduce funding for some participants in two NDIS support categories:
The changes will be introduced progressively from 1 October 2026 and may affect some participants when their NDIS plan is reviewed, reassessed, renewed or newly created.
Should the NDIA have contacted me about these changes?
The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) should have communicated extensively with participants via phone and in writing about changes that may affect their plans, including what is changing, when it may happen and what it could mean for their individual circumstances.
We understand that this information can be complex and that you may still have questions about how the changes apply to you.
If you have not received clear information, or you are unsure what the changes mean for your supports, you can contact the NDIA for clarification. Novita can also support you to understand the impact of funding changes and navigate available options where support arrangements may be affected.
Can Novita help me understand the changes?
Yes. If you have questions or concerns about how the NDIS funding changes may affect your Novita supports, you can request our assistance by contacting our Client and Family Support Unit.
We can talk with you or your plan manager about your current support arrangements and help you understand the potential impact on your services. With your consent, which can be provided to us verbally on in writing, we can participate in your plan management meetings, or your plan manager can talk directly with us about how your supports may be impacted by these changes.
Our Client and Family Support Unit can be contacted on 1300 668 482 (select option 1) or via email at [email protected].
