Non face-to-face time

Our focus will always be on supporting our clients to work towards their goals. We do this in a variety of ways. It is not just the time we spend with clients in therapy sessions, there is also time that we spend preparing for sessions, which includes reviewing goals and planning activities and equipment to use. Then after the session we record important information, as a clinical note, as well as next steps for future appointments.

The time that we charge for, whether that be for time spent in or out of therapy sessions is always related to supporting our clients to achieve their goals. You will never be charged for time that we spend on administration tasks.

A full list of non face-to-face activities can be found at the bottom of this page.

Session Preparation and Notes

We include a standard amount of time for all our direct therapy sessions which covers session preparation and notes. Session preparation time includes reviewing goals and planning activities and equipment to use. Then after the session we record important information, as a clinical note, as well as next steps for future appointments.

This consistent approach across all our therapy services, ensures that we are dedicating sufficient time to these important tasks, meaning that our clients get the most out of their therapy sessions.

For therapy sessions running 30 minutes or less, we will automatically include a minimum 10 minutes of session preparation and clinical note time.

For therapy sessions running more than 30 minutes, we will automatically include a minimum 15 minutes of session preparation and clinical note time.

On your invoice, this time will be included in your therapy time. If additional time is required, this will be discussed with you.

Travel

We know that for many of our clients it is important you can access services in your local community. When you book a therapy appointment that is not at one of our hubs, you will be charged for the therapist’s travel time. Under the NDIS, this is charged up to a maximum of 30 minutes per appointment, each way at 50% of the hourly rate of the service being provided.

For regional services, up to 60 minutes of travel, each way may be charged at the same hourly rate as the service being provided. Flat rates or travel ‘by quote’ may be negotiated, depending on circumstances.

You will be charged for the travel non-labour costs (for example running costs of the vehicle) at a rate of $1.10 per kilometre for metro and $1.20 for regional.

Where a therapist travels from one Novita location to another Novita location to deliver your service, travel will be charged.
