Funding

All the assistive technology options provided by Novitatech, including things like wheelchairs, building modifications, smart home technology and orthotics, can be funded through a variety of options, including the NDIS.

How can I pay for assistive technology?

Assistive technology can be funded through a range of sources including:

  • Personal or private funds
  • The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)
  • Via the Department for Communities and Social Inclusion (DCSI)
  • Via the Lifetime Support Authority
  • Via your private health insurance
  • Via Service clubs such as Lions Club, who support the Australian Lions Children’s Mobility Foundation (ALCMF) to fund a diverse range of walkers and other equipment.

Assistive technology can also be paid for directly by parents, carers or individuals living with disability.

What about services to support me in finding assistive technology?

Funding may be needed for a clinician to work with you to make an assessment and recommendation of the best assistive technology options for you. It may also be needed for a clinician to support you to learn to use your new technology once you receive it. Funding will also be needed to purchase the item or items that you need.

Ways to fund assistive technology clinicians include:

  • The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)
  • Via the Department for Communities and Social Inclusion (DCSI)
  • Via the Lifetime Support Authority
  • Via parents/carers/individuals living with a disability
  • Via your private health insurance
  • Via Service clubs such as Lions Club, who support the Australian Lions Children’s Mobility Foundation (ALCMF) to fund a diverse range of walkers and other equipment.

Where does Novitatech provide these services?

We provide services from all of Novita’s metropolitan sites. Our service also often involves visits at private homes, preschools and child care centres, schools, hospitals and supported accommodation facilities.

In some cases, you may need to travel to Novitatech’s main base at Novita’s Regency Park Centre to access certain trial items or for certain assessments and appointments where modifications can be made on site.
